Tim was a wonderful gentle soul who embraced life and loved to have fun.
I remember like it was yesterday. We were gettin’ in our cars headin’ for the beach on senior skip day. Swimming, partying and just havin’ fun. I remember it was getting late and Tim wanted one more swim. I had asked him not to but he said “It’s okay Mom, I’ll be all right.” The next thing I remember, I was calling for help, because I couldn’t see him anymore. The boys and girls (Men and Women) who risked their lives to save him, their names and faces are a blur to me, but have never been forgotten. You were heroes to me and are thought about often, as he is. Tim was my friend, my bud, and I loved him for his honesty and spirit. I carry his picture in my wallet to this day and speak of him and my brave classmates to my children from time to time. God, blessed us all! Does anyone remember when we were at Graduation rehearsal? We were all in our seats and one of the doors in the theater opened and closed, but when we turned to look no one was there. Did you happen to hear Freebird on the radio on your way there? I did, and I felt he was with us. Think about him when you hear that song. He was truly a “Freebird.”
